ディアジオが年に一度希少な原酒をボトリングする数量限定のシリーズ「ディアジオ スペシャルリリース 2021-2022」が登場。注目は、スコットランド・スカイ島のシングルモルト、タリスカー8年。ロッホハーポートの入り江に位置する島内最古の蒸留所で、自然や海への深い感謝を込めて造られ、魂に眠る野性を呼び覚ますウイスキーである。
モルトが力強く香るあとに漂う海藻と野山の煙香。口当たりは、柔らかくオイリーで、芳ばしい海潮のなめらかさ、少しの甘み、はっきりとした煙に重厚な味わい。長く温かいフィニッシュはピーティーな海の潮風と煙を残す。その味わいは、まさに炎を吐く海の怪物リヴァイアサンそのもの。蒸留所を200年にわたり見守り続けてきたという伝説の怪物だ。
