The 95th Academy Awards ceremony took place on March 12 (local time). At the biggest event in the film industry, which had regained its grandeur, there was one presence that shone brightly.
Every year, the red and white wines served at the ceremony are as noteworthy as the nominated films and actors. In the Dolby Theater, where the directors and actors who have made their mark on the screen over the past year gathered, glasses of Clarendre’s “Bordeaux Rouge” and “Bordeaux Blanc” were poured.
Prince Robert, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Chairman and CEO of Domaine Clarence Dillon, the company behind these red and white wines, was also there to toast his good friend and the first Asian to win an Academy Award for Best Actress, Michelle Yeoh.
Clarendre is not only the only red and white wine poured at the Academy Awards ceremony, but also dominates related events such as the after-party at the Governor’s Ball. It was also named the official wine partner of the Academy Film Museum, along with Château Cantus and Château Haut-Brion, both of which are also owned by Domaine Clarence Dillon.
This Clarendre may be unfamiliar to you, even though it is from the famous Bordeaux wine region. But you don’t have to be a wine connoisseur to know Chateau Haut-Brion. Only five chateaus were selected out of 7,500 producers and more than 10,000 wines in Bordeaux for the “1855 Médoc Classification. The chateau reigned supreme in this category and is regarded as a modern legend.
