Prince Robert, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Chairman and CEO of Domaine Clarens Dillon, said of Clarendre.
As a young man living in London, I could not afford, financially or time-wise, to enjoy fine wines. My family owned Château Haut-Brion, so I had good memories of Bordeaux and wanted to be able to enjoy it easily. A fine blend of wines that faithfully reflects the terroir of Bordeaux in southwestern France, with the vintage clearly indicated. One that excelled in complexity, elegance, and balance, and that was affordable and reliable. The Bordeaux wines that I aspired to as a young man are surely still sought after around the world today – this thought inspired the creation of Clarendre in 2005. The first release was the 2002 vintage (red). Since then, I have enjoyed various vintages of Clarendre with my family.
Clarendre, a Bordeaux wine, shone brightly on the highest stage of the Academy Awards, surrounded by many celebrities. But just as its creator, Prince Robert, wanted, Clarendre will also charm us with the same brightness and beautiful aroma under the︱ spotlight in our regular restaurants, at our tables at home, and outdoors in the coming seasons.
